Dee Caffari
Dee Caffari has sailed around the world six times. She is the first woman to have sailed single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions and the only woman to have sailed non-stop around the world a total of three times.
In 2006 Dee became the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world against the prevailing winds and currents and was awarded an MBE in recognition of her achievement.

Merry Christmas one and all
I think we will all agree that 2020 has been a year with a difference and one we will all probably be willing to see the back of. We live in hope that the New Year will be happier, healthier and safer for everyone. The last year has been an emotional…
Light at the end of the lockdown tunnel
Throughout November I have heard many people say that they have not felt as much of a difference with lockdown#2 as they did with lockdown#1. Perhaps that is simply because we have all been living with restrictions of one form or another for such a long time now that…

Sunshine and sailing
With restrictions being eased throughout the UK at various rates, we have had the difficult task of trying to understand what this means for each of us and our activities. There have been bubbles and face coverings, agreement for some and not for others. Even for keen…
Out With The Old And In With The New Normal
We are beginning to hear terms like ‘returning to a semblance of normality’ or ‘things feel more normal’ but I want to pause and actually think about whether we really do want to return to what was considered normal before this global pandemic. Old normal was not…
Staying positive and keeping busy
Credit: Ocean Safety Well, April has come to an end and we are rapidly approaching seven weeks of restricted movement. The death toll from Covid-19 appears to have moved passed the peak as a result of our social distancing measures and the fantastic work carried out…
