Dee Caffari
Dee Caffari has sailed around the world six times. She is the first woman to have sailed single-handed and non-stop around the world in both directions and the only woman to have sailed non-stop around the world a total of three times.
In 2006 Dee became the first woman to sail solo, non-stop, around the world against the prevailing winds and currents and was awarded an MBE in recognition of her achievement.

Jules Verne Trophy – Week Two
The Famous Project CIC’s second week at sea has delivered both triumph and setback. The North Atlantic proved an ideal training ground, allowing the crew to master their powerful multihull. With champagne conditions and speeds touching 30 knots, they found their…
Jules Verne Trophy – Week One
Over the last several years, The Famous Project CIC grew from the seed of an audacious idea to a powerful demonstration of collaborative leadership as eight women crossed the start line on Saturday 29th November, united in their Jules Verne Trophy attempt. The maxi…
Learning, Leading and Looking Ahead

Sailing through the seasons
As well as a change of season, September also brought a change of boat for me. I once again joined the team onboard Tilakkhana II, the Wally Cento, for the final two regattas of the 2025 season. We were treated with the most beautiful locations for both. The first was…
Offshore August

Tilakkhana II
This year I am joining a new team and, although the boat is very well known, it is new to both me and the new Tilakkhana crew. Formerly Magic Carpet 3, she has had a change of livery and, together with the owner, Pascale Decaux, we will be racing onboard Tilakkhana…
Sunshine and showers
March and April seem to have merged into one long month. For me it has been a heady mix of travel to different locations, sailing on different boats and spending time with wonderful people. I joined the Swan 58 WaveWalker for the BVI Spring Regatta this year. The…
Snowdrops, sunshine and a spaniel
This year I found myself at home for the whole month of February, which was a mixed blessing. I swapped hanging out in airports for catching up with friends and family and focussing on my personal training. The upside was being able to relax and enjoy this time…
